Higher education institutions in Oklahoma are optimistic about school in the fall – a good sign for football.

OSU Bullets

• Berry T. looked at the best OSU and OU players that went undrafted – lots of Pokes on there

• This comment about OSU’s newest recruit will help you be a little more excited about his prospects.

(Ty Williams) is the kind of defensive back that quarterbacks fear putting the ball in the air against. In his sophomore season, Williams played only 10 defensive snaps yet came down with five interceptions. The next year, 2019 and his junior season, he came down with 11 more proving it was no fluke. [Pokes Report]

“Sticky Fingers” Williams is just the kind of guy I want in that defensive backfield.

Of OSU’s draft picks in the top three rounds since 2011, would you be able to guess how many stars they were as recruits? Look no further.

Total: 6
4/5 star: 2
3-star: 3
2-star: 0
Unranked: 1

Round 1: Justin Blackmon, Brandon Weeden

Note: Weeden graduated high school in 2001, before the Rivals.com era. He then played minor league baseball before enrolling at OSU in 2007. He was not assigned a ranking. [Yahoo Sports]

While OSU isn’t near the top of college football over the time period – tied for sixth in the Big 12 – the Cowboys’ penchant for developing three-stars isn’t quite as loud in these numbers.

• How much money will OSU lose this year if football isn’t played?

OSU’s backup center is pulling trucks to stay in shape

• I wonder if this concept plays out across the country – eliminating lesser sports will save more but it’s a good show of solidarity. Odds that Gundy doesn’t take his annual raise?

Non-OSU Bullets

• Enjoyed this story about a Nordic king who became a pirate
• This NYT tour of NYC skyscrapers feels like that Chicago architecture boat ride – I’d recommend both
• Solid reflection on nostalgia in this faith-based read
