Virginia Tech will have its hands full with the breakneck pace Oklahoma State keeps – a problem they’re aware of.
The Cowboys, coached by Mike Gundy, move at as fast of a tempo as the Hokies have seen this year. Oklahoma State is averaging 2.74 plays per minute of possession, seventh nationally. To put that in perspective, Syracuse, which gave Tech fits last year, leads the country this season at 2.84. West Virginia’s 12th at 2.67.
The Hokies had their issues with the latter, allowing 592 yards, including 371 in the air, to the Mountaineers in what was a skin-of-their-teeth 31-24 victory back in Week 1. [Roanoke Times]
Fast pace and lots of creativity, all sorts of a Hokie headache is on the way.

General Appeal
Yahoo’s Pat Forde explains the novelty of the Camping World Bowl and gives his pick.
Why Watch: Because this is the best bowl matchup up to this point. To see Mike Gundy’s mullet one more time. And as an excuse to coordinate a Happy Hour with your friends.
Dash Pick: Oklahoma State 31, Virginia Tech 27. The Cowboys are 6-0 outside of Stillwater, and Orlando is definitely outside of Stillwater. Bud Foster will have a defensive game plan ready, but these are the best offensive skill players the Hokies have seen. [Yahoo Sports]
Camping World couldn’t have fallen into a better pairing (sans anything involving Notre Dame). A Happy Hour with the Cowboy offense will make for festive viewing.
