OSU Bullets

• This would be a super fun week one opponent in Stillwater – the Daniel Bobik Bowl (it’s the school he transferred from):

BYU in Stillwater would be an excellent season opener, and the television networks would sign on quickly. Brigham Young would be replacing one road game with another, but instead of a 45-minute bus ride, the Cougars would be making an 1,100-mile plane ride with an overnight stay.

Would BYU be willing? Maybe. Losing the Utah game, Brigham Young’s arch rival, is a blow to the Cougars’ season. Any marquee opponent would be a balm. [NewsOK]

Gosh, how incredible would a return trip to beautiful Utah be?

Love this Big 12/SEC scheduling idea – Pokes head down to the Swamp in this scenario (yes, plz)

• Cancelling non-conference play may be just the ticket to let this complicated football season breathe. Also – find below a date the season has to start by this fall.

There are nine Saturdays in October and November, meaning delaying the season until Oct. 3 is not only possible, it’s very doable. Should three games be canceled during that time, a six-game season with conference-only games would not be desirable but it would be enough to still conduct a conference championship game.

In other words, a delayed start of the season until Oct. 24 is doable and is likely the drop-dead date before conferences must scrap the season and move to the spring. [247 Sports]

• OSU saw a four-star offensive lineman decommit last night 🙁

• While college football may be up in the air – college basketball coaches don’t feel that way.

• Run farther and faster with a loose jaw and loose hands
• This NYT piece isn’t practical everywhere but I like the thought of cities without cars

I like this Jim Collins’ quote, I think it goes for individuals :

“Put your best people on your biggest opportunities, not your biggest problems.”
