OSU Bullets

• Such a fun “what-if” – OSU offered Patrick “half-a-billion” Mahomes shortly before he committed to Texas Tech

• Cowboy Basketball had no positive COVID tests after the first round of testing

• Porter has Viktor Hovland as the No. 12 golfer in the world in his power rankings and it’s this elite quality that puts him there:

Hovland has moved into the top 50 in the world with four straight (fairly quiet) top 25s. Despite a still-shaky (but improving!) short game, he is in the top five if you’re looking at strokes gained off the tee plus strokes gained on approach shots. Other players in that group include (Tyrrell) Hatton, (Bryson) DeChambeau, (Rory) McIlroy and Paul Casey. [CBS Sports]

A master off the tee box and approaching the green.

• This is kind of nice – the appeal timeline for the NCAA is at least 220 days:

According to an NCAA breakdown, the appeal could take over 220 days to resolve. Emily James, NCAA associate director of communications, said parties can also request for their filing deadlines to be extended. [TulsaWorld]

• OU/Texas will be played even while the Texas State Fair is cancelled

• Josh Holliday added a commitment from a high school freshman this week

• This is a really fun way for a school to spend $3-$4m:

Non-OSU Bullets

• If you’re motivated to step outside of your echo chamber of news/information (I am sometimes ha), here are some good steps
• Liked this faith-based readHamilton, C.S. Lewis’ “Inner Ring” and relational intimacy
• The Cleveland Crows? The Rockers? The Blue Sox? I can’t imagine the outrage if they went Buckeyes.

This was pretty hilarious – a kids show educating about football teams that used to be good (Nebraska leads off and Texas comes in at two minutes). If you want to be nice to an OU fan, go ahead and forward.

Tennessee and Miami should be on the next episode.
