Daily Bullets (Mar. 11): Potential Conference Landing Spot for the Bedlam Schools, What Three More Wins Would Do
Enjoy it while ya can – Pokes take on the Cyclones (less their injured NBA lottery pick) in KC tonight at 6pm CST. Winner gets the Jayhawks.
Bullets Rundown
• Potential landing spot for the Bedlam schools
• OSU’s hypothetical resume
• Great John Smith story
Scores
• BB: Pokes 22, St. Louis 4 ? (come on guys, they helped us get Travis Ford outta town)
OSU Bullets
• I’m way into the realignment thoughts for the Big 12 but found this particular idea about where OSU and OU could end up interesting.
Oklahoma folk commonly state that the Big 10 is the most likely future for the Sooners.
Presumably the league would add Oklahoma State as well and bump Purdue over to the east division. Then Oklahoma would regularly play Bedlam, the Red River Shootout, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska with occasional pulls of Michigan, Ohio State, or Penn State. I don’t know what happens to Texas in this scenario but they could probably push their way in just about anywhere. [Concerning Sports]
OSU -> B10 hasn’t been a place my mind has gone. Two thoughts:
- How would you feel about new division rival Illinois coming to town with head coach Brad Underwood?
- This is the softer half of the Big Ten (the east has Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn St) – think OSU could compete with these guys? Below is the final football standings of the Big Ten West.
• How different would OSU’s tournament resume look coming into this week look with these non-conference wins?
OSU also won at Houston, without Isaac Likekele, and won at Texas A&M. The Cowboys would have a solid resume’ if not for that horrid stretch in December when without Likekele they were beaten at home by Georgetown, routed at home by Wichita State and routed in Tulsa by Minnesota. [NewsOK]
I get that it’s hard to overcome 7-11 in league play but man, that would have been an interesting argument: keeping out a hot 20-win team riding a streak.
• Cool story here on former OSU coach Tommy Chesboro’s effect (in both wrestling and life) on John Smith
• Fun to read about the OSU players with the most to gain from spring ball (I’m ready for Langston Anderson stories)
• This is impressive…but not terribly helpful for a QB:

Non-OSU Bullets
• The title’s a bit misleading but I’m on board for the message in this HBR piece – you are what you pay attention to
• This is pretty cool – website that makes a graphic for you: you type in a song, it tells you how far you need to sing it in your head while washing (here’s the one from my fav)
