There’s one thing for certain for the Cowboys going forward. OSU will open the Big 12 Tournament against Iowa State at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in Kansas City, Mo.
Even if the Cowboys beat Texas and TCU loses to Oklahoma on Saturday to each finish with a 7-11 conference record, the Horned Frogs will win the tiebreaker for the No. 7 seed for the Big 12 Tournament thanks to its win last Saturday against Baylor.
The only question is whether OSU or Iowa State (12-18, 5-12 Big 12) gets the No. 8 seed. [NewsOK]
• Here’s some orange Kool-Aid for you to sip on for Cowboy Football in 2020 from USA Today’s college football reporter.
At minimum, Oklahoma State resembles a team capable of making a run at the New Year’s Six and potentially taking home a conference title.
That’s because of 18 returning starters, including one of the nation’s best players in running back Chuba Hubbard, a potential All-America receiver in Tylan Wallace, a hugely impressive young quarterback in Spencer Sanders and all but one starter from last year’s defense. (The) pieces are there for the Cowboys to make a major run under Mike Gundy. [USA Today]
All. the. pieces. Winning the league and making the playoff is the hundred-year-season in Stillwater – Gundy may be ready for another take at it.

• I like this recruiting take from Lunt – not all four-stars are equally valuable.
You can find good under recruited skill position players pretty easily. It’s why weighing all positions the same is stupid. You could win a national title by recruiting 4/5 star QB, OL, DL and fill out rest of team with athletic 3 stars.

• Cam McGriff has been a solid four-year player in Stillwater – a viable third-best player on a team who wins a B12 title. But what did you think his ceiling was when you saw this dunk his freshman year?
Cam McGriff said his putback dunk tonight wasn't the best of his career. He said this one was from his freshman season. https://t.co/hvuxDroc9c
