New Places

One CBS writer has Mason Rudolph going top three to… the New York Giants?

Another quarterback prospect entering the NFL with tons of experience and a polished skill set inside the pocket. Eli Manning’s downfield accuracy has rapidly decreased in each of the last three seasons, and Rudolph flourishes delivering the football deep.

Because of his NFL-readiness, the Giants won’t have to wait two or three years to get serious production from their quarterback position. [CBS Sports]

In easily the most fascinating mock to date with four Bedlam players in the top ten, he says move over Eli and sends James Washington to Denver.

Somethings Gotta Give

Iowa State has played well against the league’s top offenses – how will they fare against the best?

The Cyclones rank second in the Big 12 in scoring defense and total defense. Their numbers in those categories have improved within league play, allowing an average of just 14.7 points and 349.7 yards per game. And those stats were built mostly against the league’s No. 2 (Oklahoma), No. 3 (West Virginia), No. 4 (Texas Tech) and No. 5 (TCU) scoring offenses.

Next up: No. 1 OSU, heading into Ames on Saturday with a conference-best 45.3 points per game. [NewsOK]

It’ll either be an anemic, low-scoring Iowa State offense bringing a knife to a gunfight on Saturday or season averages won’t mean a thing when Iowa State’s wet blanket of a defense stomps out the flaming Cowboy offense.

Please DM the blog if you know which it will be.

It’s hard to not feel like Washington’s nickname shouldn’t have been “The Dollar” or “Gold Standard” – just something implying the surety of his value. Death, Taxes and Washington.

Little Baller Brand. As much fun as it would be to see Smart in OKC he embodies Boston so well.

These are like the odds of the Secretary of Housing becoming the President but it’s fun to still be mentioned.
