Daily Bullets (November 12)
2011-esque
While the Bedlam loss eliminated most comparisons on account of season trajectory, the multi-faceted offensive attack was reminiscent of the 2011 squad.
The Cyclones have done a great job in their biggest wins playing pass defense, and so it set them up perfectly to lean on a pass coverage-heavy game plan against Mason Rudolph. Oklahoma State has seen a lot of teams in Big 12 play drop seven and even eight men into coverage, bracketing the Cowboys’ gifted wide receivers and trying to shut down the passing attack in exchange for the defending the run.
That set up plenty of opportunities for running back Justice Hill and on Saturday, he cashed in with 134 yards and three touchdowns. [CBS Sports]
This tends to be true about the offense all too often:
OSU has one of the all time great offenses and seems content to let their defense try to survive one more time.

Opponents, on the other hand, are left to the old “cut off the nose and spite the face” reality plays out when you try and take away one facet to only be dominated by another. But hey, you gotta try something.

Swing and A Miss
Everyone’s happy the Pokes came home with a win but one issue did surface – missed tackles.
An early-season problem reared its head in an ugly way. The OSU defense missed tackles by the bushel Saturday. That hadn’t been a huge issue since early in the year, but from the start Saturday, the Cowboys failed to wrap up and get ballcarriers on the ground. [NewsOK]
Now I won’t pretend it’s easy to tackle this 5’10”, 220-pound boss but Bill’s Cats will run all up in that business next week.

I think he’s worth considering.
How unfortunate – can you fire an interim coach?

It’s hard to enjoy the time up to the win but gotta be easy to breathe after right?
If you still can find a way to complain with a win like that.. You need help.
