Speed Kills
The matchup between the Pokes and the Wildcat defense just continues to sound more and more appetizing.
“Downfield, I have a better top speed than most guys, and a knack to run through the ball, which is something I worked on a lot,” Washington said.
And those statistics could increase this weekend as the Cowboys welcome Kansas State to Stillwater. The Wildcats have the third-worst pass defense nationally, giving up 303.4 passing yards per game, and they’ve given up 24 pass plays of at least 20 yards (fourth-worst among FBS teams). That kind of a matchup could mean a lot of big plays between quarterback Mason Rudolph and Washington, which means a lot of running for the Kansas State defensive backs. [The Athletic $]
There is literally no one in college football better at the long ball than the President.

Pig Fooey
Berry Tramel took a question on comparing the Oklahoma State and Arkansas football jobs.
OSU is a better job. OSU hasn’t fired a coach in 17 years. Arkansas is about to fire its third in 10 years. Arkansas has been to one major bowl in the last 28 years. OSU has been to two major bowls in the last seven years and is threatening to make it three.
OSU’s recruiting base is better. OSU’s facilities are just as good. The only advantage for the Hogs is no OU shadow. Gundy would be nuts to take the Arkansas job. [NewsOK]
Similar stadium sizes and recruiting classes (I believe) but Arkansas goes to bed feeling good that they’re in the SEC and Oklahoma State fans rest knowing they win ball games. To each, his own but Oklahoma State is definitely the better job for a coach.
Color me intrigued if this or Malzahn coming home happens though.
If Mike Leach somehow ended up at Arkansas I might need to become a Razorbacks fan https://t.co/eokH1rsIm9

OSU and NCAA Notes
Can a two-loss team make the playoff?….Odds and scenarios that longshots (including OSU) would make the Playoff….Austin Peay may be playoff bound after going 1-45 in recent history….A great look at Kansas State’s offense here….Five (non-OSU) games to watch in a slow Week 12….Tramel says Glenn Spencer could be on the hot seat today against K-State
Happy gameday, enjoy.
