Red Dirt Rudolph

Something that stung as a Thunder fan when Kevin Durant left was how much he embodied the culture of Oklahoma. It sounds like Mason Rudolph has struck a similar chord with Oklahomans.

Rudolph remained the guy who watched the film, who committed the hours, who established the standard for everyone else.

“To be as decorated as he is and the way he handles things … ” Cowboy coach Mike Gundy said, shaking his head, “there’s not much else you could ask for.”

It’s an understatement to say Rudolph is leaving on better terms and will undoubtedly find much warmer welcomes upon return.

Core Competency

Losing three seniors in Aaron Cochran, Zach Crabtree and Brad Lundblade, you can see a semblance of a returning group on the Cowboy offensive line because of a couple of seniors who won’t leave this year.

Two seniors did not: offensive linemen Shane Richards and Larry Williams, who are expected back to help anchor a rebuilt unit up front in 2018.

With seniors Zach Crabtree and Aaron Cochran in place at the tackles, Richards redshirted this season with an eye on returning as a starter. Williams started the first three games, before suffering a season-ending lower leg injury during practice. He’ll seek a sixth season of eligibility. [NewsOK]

Combined with guard Marcus Keyes, Johnny Wilson who played some center and Tevin Jenkins who played in relief this year, the unit is filling out for 2018.

How would you like to be the guy who picks the best highlights from a 58-17 win?

Loads better than being a Big Ten highlight reel guy… “Look at that, a broken tackle!”

Not a lot of meat on the bone for Saturday with rematches of the best games.

One of CFB’s better traditions.

All the little brother schools cringed for the Bulldogs – the Oklahoma State of the SEC.
