OSU Bullets
Most Viewed of the Week (No. 1): Ten Thoughts from the K-State Win

If I told you ahead of time that OSU would be replacing both tackles, Spencer Sanders’ wouldn’t have a good game, and yet, OSU would murder Kansas State on the ground and grind out a two-score-win that was never really close, you would rightfully look at me like I’m nuts. But it was reality last week.

In retrospect, the thing that sticks out to me the most is how much Kansas State went away from who they are offensively. Granted, they weren’t having much success on the ground, but I fully expected them to wear out OSU’s unexperienced defensive front and that wasn’t remotely the case.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 2): Gundy Dances after the K-State Win

Outside of winning football games, where would it be incentivized for a 50-something man to dance like this? Let me know when you’ve got an answer, I’ll spend the next twenty years practicing.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 3): John Smith Signed the Number 1 Wrestler for 2020

Something that was pretty cool here is how the recruit (AJ Ferrari) valued his family heritage in the process. He noted in his announcement how John Smith’s big Italian family impacted his decision as a young Italian man.

Also, after receiving the commitment, five of seven recruits are in the top three of their respective weights. Is that what it’s like to pull for a blueblood? People really just want to come play sports at your school because you’re so stinking successful.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 4): Recruits that Attended the K-State Game

The two big uncommitted players on campus were a pair of Oklahoma boys: defensive back Kendal Daniels and running back Isaiah Jacobs. Daniels is one of those guys who just kills it his level of competition – smaller town ball in Oklahoma – while Jacobs looks like the cream of the crop at running back in the state.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 5): Notebook from the K-State Game

Pointing out that L.D. Brown (who I’ve been selling stock on all year) ran for 6.3 yards a carry is the definition of the inconvenient truth. Gundy pointed out that it’s just hard to take Chuba Hubbard off the field and that makes sense. But you have to get Hubbard some breaks, right?

That bar can be set low – five carries per game for Brown is a step in the right direction. If you can’t find a couple of series a game to give Hubbard a break, there’s something wrong with the offense.

P.S: can we put Dezmon Jackson‘s face on milk cartons?

• This story of how a kid won an adult 10k by accident is great

• Like how this entrepreneurship article says this about how gaining knowledge isn’t the end goal for success:

That’s probably why the world’s most successful entrepreneurs intersperse knowledge acquisition with creative experimentation — to immediately put their learning to use. [Entrepreneur]

• This faith-based read on “The Performance Trap” had me stopped in my tracks – in a way, “How the World Came to Run on Coffee” seems related
