Four-star PG Target De’Vion Harmon Sets Commitment Date
Days after trimming his list of top schools and including Oklahoma State among his final 5, 2019 point guard De’Vion Harmon of Denton Guyer has set his commitment date.
Fittingly, his decision date comes one day before Bedlam in Stillwater — Nov. 3. Harmon’s decision is believed to come down to OU and OSU, with Marquette, Texas and Baylor also lurking as dark horses. As it stands now, though, the Sooners appear to be the leader in the clubhouse. Even more fitting: the last time he made a visit to Stillwater, it was for Bedlam basketball.
“It was great,” Harmon said of his Bedlam experience earlier this year. “I loved everybody down there. Great people. Great campus. Their fans are probably the best fans in the country to me.
“I actually felt like a player when I went down there,” continued Harmon. “I talked to a lot of the fans and kids — there were kids asking for autographs, and I felt like a bigger icon around them. I love everything about Oklahoma State. They’re definitely one of my top three schools.”
Harmon is ranked as the No. 41 player in the 2019 class, and the No. 5 player nationally at his position. The high-end four-star from Texas helped lead USA Basketball’s U16 team to a Gold Medal at the FIBA U16 Championships last summer, where he averaged 11.8 points per game.
