In-State Linebacker Rejhan Tatum Sets Commitment Date
Will OSU add another in-state defender Sunday?
The Cowboys have been on a good run as of late with in-state defensive prospects, and they could add another this week.
Del City linebacker Rejhan Tatum announced Wednesday that he will commit to a program Sunday after putting out a final three of Oklahoma State, Baylor and Boise State last month.
The Cowboys have seven in-state players committed in their 2021 class, and five of those guys play defense. It goes even further for that for Tatum, though, as his high school teammate and fellow linebacker Donovan Stephens committed to OSU on Aug. 9.
Looking at the 2021 classes of Tatum’s three finalists, Oklahoma State seems like a solid fit. OSU has one inside linebacker in its class in Collin Oliver, but Oliver is expected to play the Trace Ford-like edge role when he gets to Stillwater. Tatum is also the only uncommitted inside linebacker OSU has offered, according to 247Sports.
Meanwhile, Baylor has two inside backers already committed, and Boise State has one.
Tatum is the No. 987 player overall, No. 43 inside linebacker and No. 17 Okie in the 2021 composite rankings. OSU adding Tatum would move the Cowboys up two spots to No. 5 in the Big 12 recruiting rankings, ahead of West Virginia and Kansas State.
