Stop me if you have heard this before: an Oklahoma State starting offensive lineman is on the injury report.

Oklahoma State will be without starting right tackle Jake Springfield on Saturday night against Arizona State, according to Dave Hunziker. Springfield started at right tackle in OSU’s Week 1 win against Central Arkansas but left with injury in the first quarter. Texas State transfer Dalton Cooper filled in from there.

A redshirt senior, Springfield has started 30 games as a Cowboy, most of any returner on the roster. He started all of the Cowboys’ games in 2022.

Hunziker did mention that Preston Wilson will play against the Sun Devils. Wilson — OSU’s projected starter at right guard — missed the Pokes’ season opener for an undisclosed, non-football reason. Although Hunziker said Wilson will play, Hunziker noted he wasn’t sure how much.

Wilson has 22 career starts entering this season — 10 of which came in 2022.

The Cowboys will also be without Tulsa transfer linebacker Justin Wright, who announced via X this week that he would be out until OSU’s Week 5 matchup against Kansas State.

Oklahoma State and Arizona State kick off at 9:30 p.m. Central on FS1.
