One of the Cowboys’ highly anticipated young receivers will miss OSU’s season-opener.

Jaden Bray is injured and will miss Oklahoma State’s game against Central Michigan, according to Dave Hunziker. Hunziker also reports that Blaine Green and Jake Schultz will miss the game that starts at 6 p.m. Thursday.

A 6-foot-2, 200-pound sophomore, Bray had 13 catches as a true freshman last season for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He was a starting receiver on the Cowboys’ first two-deep of the season. Fellow sophomore Bryson Green was listed behind Bray on that depth chart. Listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, Bryson Green had 12 catches last season for 139 yards and two touchdowns. This could also lead to redshirt junior Langston Anderson seeing extended snaps after missing all of last season with a pregame injury.

OSU will also be without Green’s twin, Blaine Green, but that has been known for a while. Blaine, a 6-1, 220-pound Cowboy back, suffered a wrist injury in fall camp and was not listed on OSU’s first two-deep. Shultz, a converted defensive end, was listed as a starting Cowboy back alongside Braden Cassity, another converted defensive end. Cassity caught five passes for 66 yards last season. Other Cowboy backs on OSU’s roster are Quinton Stewart, Tabry Shettron and Luke McEndoo.

The Cowboys will also be without Texas A&M running back transfer Deondre Jackson, who tweeted that he is dealing with transcript issues. Expect Dominic Richardson, Jaden Nixon and Ollie Gordon to divvy up carries against the Chippewas.
