OSU Opens as 11.5-Point Favorite in Conference Opener against Texas Tech

The odds are in the Pokes’ favor heading into Week 4.

For a fourth consecutive week, Oklahoma State opens as the betting favorite to win its matchup. Unlike last week, however, when OSU opened as a 3.5-point favorite but the line swung in favor of Boise State by kick, this week’s line is likely to remain bright orange.

According to opening odds from VegasInsider.com, the Texas Tech-Oklahoma State line is -11.5 in favor of the Pokes entering Week 4. It will be both team’s conference opener of the season.

Both teams are coming off impressive wins, OSU over No. 17 Boise State and Texas Tech over Houston in a Saturday shootout, but only one, OSU remains unbeaten between the two. The Red Raiders lost 47-27 to Ole Miss in a lopsided contest to open their season.

Texas Tech has changed in complexion slightly since that early loss, namely at QB where a true freshman QB in Alan Bowman has taken the reins. Bowman looked like the second coming of Baker Mayfield against Houston, but defense remains a big question mark. The Red Raiders are allowing a Big 12-worst 7.6 yards per play thus far this season, which ranks 123rd nationally. They also rank 127th nationally in total yards per game surrendered at 590.5.

The Cowboys rank near the top nationally in total offense entering Saturday’s game and figure to have a decided advantage in that department. Through three contests, they’re averaging 49.5 points and 520.5 yards per game in three convincingly dominant wins to date.

Below is a look at the other opening lines across the rest of the Big 12.
