Rudolph Falls Way Back in Heisman Odds, but Oklahoma State Remains 25-1 to Win it All

When the CFP rankings are released on Tuesday evening, it won’t feel like Oklahoma State has a chance at making the final four. But Vegas says differently, and there’s still a long way to go the rest of the season.

Oklahoma State remained 25-1 to win it all this week after defeating West Virginia on Saturday, tied with undefeated Wisconsin and one-loss OU and just ahead of undefeated Miami. The Pokes are now just behind one-loss Penn State, and this is what we wanted, right?

TEAM This Week Last Week
ALABAMA 2-3 4-5
OHIO STATE 3-1 4-1
CLEMSON 8-1 10-1
GEORGIA 12-1 10-1
NOTRE DAME 12-1 20-1
PENN STATE 20-1 8-1
WISCONSIN 25-1 25-1
OKLAHOMA 25-1 25-1
OKLAHOMA STATE 25-1 25-1
MIAMI 30-1 25-1
Washington 30-1 40-1
TCU 100-1 20-1
Central Florida 100-1 100-1

How about TCU, by the way? From 20-1 to 100-1 faster than you can say “Fred Hoiberg was better than Georges Niang.” Also, the Ohio State > Oklahoma thing is more understandable from a gambler’s perspective, but a lot of this is still predicated on what the CFP committee will do regarding those teams and the playoffs.

Two weeks ago Mason Rudolph was 10-1 to win the Heisman and squarely in the conversation. Now he’s one Baker Mayfield right hook from being removed altogether. There’s still hope, though, as the Heisman will likely go to one of these seven players — they’re the only ones with reasonable odds heading into the stretch run, and four of them will likely end up in New York.

PLAYER TEAM This WEek Last Week
SAQUON BARKLEY PENN STATE 2-3 4-7
BRYCE LOVE STANFORD 7-2 2-1
J.T. BARRETT OHIO STATE 4-1 10-1
BAKER MAYFIELD OKLAHOMA 8-1 10-1
JOSH ADAMS NOTRE DAME 10-1 40-1
LAMAR JACKSON LOUISVILLE 25-1 25-1
MASON RUDOLPH OKLAHOMA STATE 30-1 20-1

This can change drastically from week to week, too. What if Rudolph throws for five bills against OU and the Pokes whip the Sooners in Stillwater? Think that would shake things up a bit? Add this to the list of things on the line this weekend when Bedlam takes center stage in the college football world at 3 p.m.
