Rudolph Passes Gundy, Becomes All-Time Wins Leader at OSU
The game was messy, but after Oklahoma State’s road win against West Virginia, the Cowboys’ record book is clean with one name atop the rest.
Mason Rudolph, among a couple of other records, set the school record for career wins by a starting QB with 29 after the 50-39 victory. He passed the man who has coached him since he was a wee freshman starting in Waco, Texas, Mike Gundy.
Only totaling 216 yards on 58 percent passing, Rudolph’s day wasn’t superb, but it was record-setting without a doubt.
He also passed Brandon Weeden for OSU’s career passing touchdowns record after tossing his 75th, 76th and 77th scores. Rudolph’s second score, a dump off to J.D. King, put him to the top.
And to top it off, he passed Zac Robinson for the school record of most touchdowns accounted for. Robinson’s record in his career in Stillwater was 88. Rudolph now has 91 and counting.
Perhaps the most stunning part of it all is how many games Rudolph did all of this in. His record as the starter now goes to 29-7 with three of those six losses coming at the hands of the Baylor Bears.
