Three-Star Running Back TJ Lewis Commits to Oklahoma State
Lewis comes in at 6-feet, 225 pounds.
The Cowboys added a touted running back from Big Ten territory on Friday evening.
TJ Lewis announced his commitment to Oklahoma State. Out of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Lewis is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports and Rivals. He also held offers from Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, Missouri, Michigan and others.
Listed at a bruising 6-feet, 225 pounds, Lewis is the No. 630 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking for the 2027 class, which makes him the No. 41 running back in the cycle and a Top 30 player from Illinois.
Lewis visited Oklahoma State last week and had also made trips to Illinois and UConn ahead of his commitment.
As a high school junior in 2025, Lewis was a First Team All-State selection, scoring 22 touchdowns with 1,808 all-purpose yards. He was his conference’s MVP, as his Bolingbrook Raiders went 9-3 and made it to the quarterfinals of the Illinois 8A state playoffs.
Even with his big frame, Lewis shows a good ability to change pace with a lateral move and make a man miss in his junior highlights. And once he gets rolling downhill, he has the speed to take it the distance.
Lewis makes it double-digit commits for Eric Morris and Co. in the 2027 cycle, with seven of those guys set to play offense at the next level.
The Cowboys are still behind much of the Big 12 in terms of quantity of commits in the class, but Morris made an early note after getting hired that they did feel a bit behind there given the transition. OSU’s 10-man class ranks 14th in the league, according to 247Sports, but everyone ahead has between 12 and 27 commits to this point.
