Daily Bullets (December 9)
Happy 29th birthday (for the third time) to my sister Steph, enjoy your time away from the kiddos.
Grudge Match
Today presents a great opportunity for the Shockers: revenge.
Wichita State may not talk about revenge, at least not openly. Still, when it comes to Saturday’s game at Oklahoma State, the No. 6-ranked Shockers at least want to play home wreckers.
That’s what the Cowboys did to them a year ago, rolling 93-76 in Wichita, becoming just the second non-conference team to beat the Shockers at home since 2008. The rout was Wichita State’s worst loss of the season [AP]
What a win for the Pokes last year – and it’d be even bigger this time around.
Winter Finals
Wichita State is an early season exam, looking to knock out their second Big 12 opponent.
The Shockers already beat Baylor in Waco last Saturday and can get another quality road win for their tournament résumé.
For Oklahoma State, though, this can serve as a measuring-stick game against a legit Final Four contender. Mike Boynton’s team has cleared modest expectations thus far. [The Athletic $]
For a team projected last in the league, playing in games with tourney teams like Texas A&M and Wichita State are all you could ask for at this point in the schedule.
OSU and NCAA Notes
Could Marcell Ateman be a first-round pick?…. Lessons from four years of the Playoff….Great idea for who the next offensive coordinator at K-State should be….Changes for Arkansas Football will be massive
Not sure we were appropriately excited about these small-town kids.
2 small town kids moved to Stillwater 3 in a half years ago not knowing what the future would hold. Today you took home the Biletnikoff award. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you ‼️ #207Morsani pic.twitter.com/92eoDuTbjX
