Booker T. Washington’s Demarco Jones Commits to Oklahoma State
Booker T. Washington cornerback Demarco Jones wasted no time with his decision process. Just days after picking up an Oklahoma State offer, the 2019 standout shut down his recruitment and picked the Pokes.
“First, I want to thank God for giving me the ability to play the game of football,” he said on Twitter. “Ever since a young boy I’ve always loved the sport and dreamt of one day playing in college. I want to thank my family for supporting me through every decision that I’ve made thus far. I also want to thank my coaches, teammates and close friends who supported me through the process.
“Although it’s early for me, I am positive that this is the best choice for not only me but my family. I want to thank all the coaches that took time to recruit me as a young student athlete. But after talking to coach Duffie, coach Gundy and my parents, I would like to say that I will be furthering my education and football career at Oklahoma State University.”
I noted earlier this morning in The Reload that Oklahoma State had vaulted not only from favorite to probable landing spot shortly after the staff offered, and this news was expected at some point this week.
Jones’ commitment gives OSU its third pledge in the Class of 2019 to go alongside four-star tight end Grayson Boomer and Aussie punter Tom Hutton.
What will be interesting moving forward is how — or if — Jones’ decision impacts his five-star teammate Dax Hill, a long-time OSU target with dozens of offers. Hill, the younger brother of OSU running back Justice Hill, has OSU among his top schools.
After Jones made his decision on Monday, the elder Hill weighed in on Twitter to congratulate his now future Cowboy teammate.
Congrats my guy! Best decision you’ll ever make #whosnext https://t.co/LT27LLPCxG

As a junior last season, Jones tallied up 25 tackles, two interceptions and 16 pass breakups. Check out highlights of his 2017-2018 campaign below.
