• Most Viewed of the Week (No. 1): Spencer Sanders Will Pass Dru Brown

A spot-on observation in this piece was pointing out the thing that Spencer Sanders needs most is reps – the one thing he’s not being given now. Now – based off of one practice in the spring and high school tape, can we draw conclusions about what Sanders’ ceiling is? Of course not. But based off of the talent we’ve seen and heard about, he just needs reps to find more polish.

At some point, he’ll have to get those if we want to see him clearly separate from Brown, right?

• Most Viewed of the Week (No. 2): Kick Time, TV Info for the Oregon State Game

You’ve got until Friday to adjust your streaming packages to include Fox Sports 1 (FS1) for the 9:30 p.m. kickoff in Corvallis. Bonus to this late kickoff: more than enough time to get your young kiddos to bed for kickoff! Sure you’ll be asleep for the fourth quarter but we can find the positive here, right?

• Most Viewed of the Week (No. 3): OSU Basketball (Twitter Account) Owned Trae Young

It was a pretty savage move here by the Pokes but more classy given that the tweet was directed to BleacherReport and not Trae himself. The best part of this article was reliving the Mitchell Solomon dive at halfcourt that swung the game. Wasn’t that the ultimate Solomon moment?

• Most Viewed of the Week (No. 4): What Gundy Must Consider (From a Layman’s Perspective) in the QB Battle

Cox built out a solid rubric for evaluating the QB options here, a helpful tool as you think through what’s important next weekend. The two things that he zoomed in on that should be most appreciated are a) who pops and b) the future. I’ve got some thoughts stuck in my craw that I’ll likely post on this week but these seem to be the biggest deal to me.

I think that “popping” is best for everyone. A quarterback needs to be able to do things that an NFL quarterback can do either athletically or just the capacity to put a ball on a line. When Weeden would dice up a defense toss-after-toss or Rudolph would connect bomb-after-bomb, you knew that equally struck fear in opponents and inspired confidence in teammates.

• Most Viewed of the Week (No. 5): OSU Not in the AP Pre-Season Top 25

This was surprising – in that, we’ve become accustomed to Mike Gundy teams consistently being in the top 25 – and not surprising – in that OSU couldn’t possibly be in the top 25 without a named starter, right? Sometimes if a team finishes on an uptick and returns a lot, they’ll get the courtesy nod from the media.

But 7-6 teams don’t generally merit that, especially when they’re breaking in a brand new quarterback.
