OSU Bullets

• What a service – PFB picked out the five best quotes from Gundy’s presser on Saturday. The Daily Bullets (by Kyle Cox) from yesterday did a terrific job of compiling all the articles about Cowboy Football’s Media Day from Saturday also.

• Couple of OSU Cowboy nuggets in this NFL piece – Teven Jenkins is back to practice and James Washington can rest easy knowing Jerry Jones isn’t looking to bring in another veteran after Washington sustained a two-month injury

• These numbers on Avery Anderson peels back the Pokes’ strategy for this winter a bit:

There are very few perimeter defenders who are better than Anderson in the Big 12. Anderson was in the 89th percentile in overall defense, per Synergy. He faced off against 87 pick-and-rolls last year and opponents scored just 41 points (0.47 points per possession). That’s fabulous.

Oklahoma State was really active in the transfer portal, bringing in three guards to take some of the shot-creation pressure off Anderson. That should really help him have a career-best season.

• Cowboy Wrestling is figuring out how they’ll fill in for AJ Ferrari’s exit

• Couple of fall camp profiles:
– OSU has options for replacing Jaylen Warren
Jaden Bray is poised for a leap in 2022 and the sophomore receivers behind him look solid too

• That win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl got the Pokes into the top-ten with the Irish:

Non-OSU Bullets

• A piece I’ve shared before but this analysis on “the limits of friendships” seems solid:

I’ve always found this to be a helpful framing for thinking about relationships. I’ve made lists of people at various times and try to talk to the ~15 people I am closest with at least monthly and the ~50 people at least yearly (ideally in person which typically means trips to where I grew up, went to college, and cities I lived in).

• Solid resource for building a “rule of life” (faith-based)

Listening to these NFL soundtracks is therapeutic:
