• It’s disappointing for the Pokes to lose their first game last night and there are two perfectly logical conclusions to draw after it.
Can you imagine what would have happened to past OSU teams that lost their best player slash point guard? And I get it, Georgetown was missing two of their better guys as well. But (Issac Likekele) makes everything go for OSU on both ends. To say OSU wasn’t as good defensively without him out there is to say that Bedlam football has been a bit one-sided in recent years. [PFB]
Couldn’t agree more – the depth of this team allows them to compete without even the most necessary of players.
Valuing Likekele so highly is reasonable – a point guard is so crucial to a good team. The one position where a guy can just single-handedly take over a game from if he’s elite. From a combination of morale and statistical purposes, Likekele is the highest plus/minus of any guy on the roster.
And while I know he can have his games where you don’t know he’s out there – Lindy Waters is definitely the best offensive option for this team
“This is the first time our young team has faced adversity. I can’t wait to come back tomorrow and get to work.” @LindyWatersIII

• Phil Forte shared about what it was like taking on the Bedlam rivalry as a player from somewhere else.
“My last year when I was playing for coach [Brad] Underwood,” Forte said. “We went there and won in Norman for the first time, in probably eight to 10 years, and we went there and I hit the game winner there. It was my last year my senior year you add all that in it’s a very special moment. Then we played them at home about a month later and that game was crazy it was back and forth we came back late and that was the first time we swept them in probably 10 years as well.
It was my last time playing Oklahoma both those game my senior year was very special because you know it is what it is but. When you go to Oklahoma State you just don’t like Oklahoma. That’s just what it is. When you’re there for five years like I was the rivalry really just gets in your blood.” [O’Colly]
• As bowl speculation continues to run wild, the Pokes are pretty consistently pegged for one of three bowls: Alamo, Texas, or Camping World. This remains the most fun to consider:

• Chuba Hubbard landed Big 12 OPOY honors yesterday – Spencer Sanders wrapped up offensive freshman of the year
• Utah or Baylor getting into the playoff would be mildly entertaining but we’ve seen this before with Michigan State and Washington too…
• It’s hard to comprehend how consistently dominant and excellent Oklahoma State has been in wrestling

• This graphic showing the most popular last name in every country is pretty cool
• The idea of setting aside time for passion projects seems brilliant
• National Geographic’s photos of the year
• It’s a bit controversial but this faith-based look at anxiety was challenging
