(Other) Tourney Hopes

Instead of ruminating over the slumping Pokes, let’s take a look at what the NIT-situation is looking like.

Via dratings.com, which updated its brackets on Sunday, Oklahoma State is projected to be a 4-seed in the NIT (which would mean a first-round home game).

The projected 5-seeds (and thus, potential opponents): Old Dominion, UCF, Oregon, UNLV. [TulsaWorld]

If OSU has to face another under-seeded Oregon team… Woof.

Reading the Raiders

Leading up to Wednesday night’s tilt against the Red Raiders, the need-to-know is they lost their premier scorer/closer at Baylor on Saturday.

The Red Raiders almost survived without Evans by turning to their defense, one of the best in the country in terms of field goal percentage. But when they needed their go-to guy in the final minutes, they didn’t have him. [MyPlainview]

It’s no shame to lose by two to a streaking Baylor team in Waco without your top-scorer. It sounds like the Red Raiders will be a handful either way – a surefire one or two seed when they’re fully manned.

While I wouldn’t want to do it in my job, Bob may be onto something.

Happy late birthday to Larry Reece.

One of a kind.

How many of those played for the 45′ Army team? (not a serious question).

This alone should tell the Hall of Fame how good Eddie was.

Rickie back to defend his title this weekend.
