Grilled Beef
Texas may be feeling just as much heat as the Pokes as their tourney hopes are on the ropes.
The Longhorns have now dropped four of their last five games, with the sole win coming last Saturday against Oklahoma — the only team in the Big 12 unraveling faster than Texas.
Now the Longhorns head back to Austin with the health of freshman forward Mo Bamba (toe injury) in question, and Oklahoma State will come to town for what should be the biggest game of the season.
“That is a game we need to put everything we have into,” (Shaka) Smart said. “(Oklahoma State) was a team that we were beating on the road at their place down the stretch, and they came back. We have to find a way.” [DailyTexan]
No sneaking up on this Texas team but if Bamba plays at even 50 percent, the Pokes could have a real shot at leaving the state capital with a win.
This doesn’t hurt either – 8.8 points a game.
Guard Eric Davis Jr. will be held out of competition for precautionary reasons pending results of an internal Texas review.

Resting Rudolph
A new excuse is given for some of Rudolph’s deficiencies in the latest CBS Mock Draft.
5. Denver Broncos Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State:
NFL teams question his arm strength, but have they considered Rudolph’s arm just might be a little tired after throwing for 13,618 yards and 92 touchdowns in his Oklahoma State career? [CBS Sports]
That’s a bit kind.
I’m no X’s-and-O’s guy but I struggle with criticism on his arm strength. Weeden’s ball was definitely tighter (may be the answer) but any guy who can hit the 15-yard sideline out and hit Washington in stride halfway down the field appears to have the necessities.

It’s not even close.
If we weighed current success against preseason expectations, Oklahoma State's Mike Boynton is the runaway Big 12 coach of the year.
