Boone’s west Texas estate just dropped eight-digits in price if you’re on the market.

• The termination Mike Gundy should great

OSU Bullets

• A way-too-early 2020 power ranking has the Cowboys second in Big 12 football with one major question.

Is Spencer Sanders ready to make the most of this supporting cast of skill players? He spent a fair chunk of 2019 playing with reads like, “throw to Tylan Wallace executing a double move or scramble” and “read the DE for hand-off to Chuba Hubbard or keep.” Don’t get me wrong, that was pretty effective because of the athleticism and arm talent involved in those transactions, but OSU becomes overpowering if Sanders gets closer to Taylor Cornelius in his understanding of the offense. [Concerning Sports]

Sanders’ ceiling is the limiting (or multiplying) factor for the Pokes. It’s incredible how different the conversation gets to be with the stars back and not leaning on others.

• So what’s the benefit of moving the OSU/Texas game to Black Friday?

Folks on Twitter pointed this out, but this a good thing for OSU. You get off the heavy Michigan-Ohio State and Alabama-Auburn slate and get your own day. There will be other good games (see below for all the ranked ones — Tech-Texas and WVU-TCU were also played on Friday), but this could legitimately be the game of the day. [PFB]

• Here’s a unique take – this is the personnel decision that Mike Gundy regrets making.

The biggest mistake Mike Gundy ever made, which he never gets called out for, was firing Bill Young after the 2012 season. Young claims Gundy told him he was too old and wouldn’t be able to recruit and keep up and then he promoted LB coach Glenn Spencer, who moved off Young’s very simple “bend don’t break” quarters concept and started mixing in a lot more to the play book.

Year one in 2013 went great with one of their best Ds yet, but then the dozen or so seniors that made up that unit graduated and they’ve failed to be very good ever since. [Concerning Sports]
