โข OSU Baseball signee Jackson Holliday was drafted first overall in last night’s MLB Draft – to some, it was visible that he would be a first-round pick at the age of three
โข Viktor Hovland didn’t have a great final round (shooting +2) but still finished T-4th at The Open – he brings home $654k for his trouble
โข A realignment update dropped yesterday morning – it appears a Big 12-Pac 12 merger is being considered and may be gaining some momentum.
Adding two teams and dividing up the two leagues into four-six team pods would be a lot of fun. It seems like the best thing for the Big 12 is to add four to six Pac-12 teams, namely some schools that are the best teams in their states that bring TVs.
โข In a mailbag over at The Athletic, national college football writer Andy Staples took it upon himself to praise Boone Pickens Stadium as one of the better “small” environments in college football:
One school (reader) didn’t mention that has an intimidating venue despite its size is Oklahoma State. Boone Pickens Stadium holds about 55,000 but with fans sitting basically on top of the field and the Paddle People constantly making noise and creating a jarring visual effect that opponents can’t help but notice.

โข The Pokes are projected to have the third-best “space force” units this fall:
The โPokes under Mike Gundy are always overcoming other deficits with athleticism in space. The 2021 crew had one deep threat-ish target in Tay Martin, terrible tackle play, amazing Edge rushers, and solid cornerback play as well.
They can match a lot of it again with a few positive breaks.

โข Nice little summary of what Mike Gundy had to say at Big 12 Media Days last week
โข Per Instagram, the Pokes are adding another arm for the bullpen in a BYU underclassmen:
โข Don’t forget – Celebrity Waiter Night at Joe’s tomorrow night from 6 to 8pm to benefit the Eddie Sutton Foundation:
