Next Stop: Top Dogs?
The league and contender status is prime for Oklahoma State football.
“Talent wise, maturity, team continuity, all that…” Gundy said. “This would be up there with the top two or three teams I’ve had.”
If everyone plays to their potential, the defense finds just enough answers and injuries are stiff-armed, this could be Gundy’s top team. If the Sooners take a step back while adjusting to football after Stoops, this could be OSU’s ticket to a Big 12 title and the playoff.
And if that happens, the Cowboys won’t need a mullet to make a nation notice. [TulsaWorld]
We’re either living in 2011 (viable title contender), 2013 (a dropped interception from title-contending) or 2009 (bogus suspension from contention).
Secondary Concerns
Gundy took a stab at answering the concerns for the defense, specifically with the secondary, at Big 12 media days.
“I think we’ll be better on defense than what people think,” Gundy said, “because we’re faster. Over the last six or seven years, we’ve got a little bit of a different cut of an athlete to start working with in recruiting. They’re a little taller, a little longer, a little faster.
“So we’ve got to have two or three guys in our secondary that need to play well that nobody really knows about, because they haven’t played. But they’re a little further along athletically than what we had five, six, seven years ago. That’s why I think it gives us a chance to be a little better.” [NewsOK]
It’s reasonable to be concerned about the corners in the pass-happy Big 12 but let’s be clear, Gundy isn’t facing the questions Kliff Kingsbury is.. I wish he would just come out and say “Let em’ score 30, nobody’s catching us this year.”

Would Kansas win 6 games with this guy slinging the rock? Yurcich is a wizard for finding No. 2 and getting him to campus.

Porter suggested this with a John Smith cam one time, the first school to do this will make bank.
(Ole Miss/Hugh Freeze tried to make Cowboy alum and former Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt the scapegoat for allegations)
Houston Nutt Go Pro for the rest of the evening would be something I would watch and pay money for.
