Mike GUNdy
A veil was lifted on how Gundy is able to run (what appears to be) a violence free environment. And part of it has to do with where Oklahoma State is.
“I think most of that is coming from where our world is now,” said Cowboys wide receiver James Washington, an avid hunter. “With all the shootings and things like that, it really changes people’s minds.”
Gundy regularly stresses to his players that “you don’t need a gun to live in Stillwater.” [CBS Sports]
Has Gundy replicated his vocabulary in the normally silent James Washington? “… (W)here our world is now”
Also, as folks familiar with Stillwater, Oklahoma, it’s pretty comical to think about someone making an argument they need protection there.
Junior
Jalen McCleskey’s extraordinary bloodlines must have been an easy sell to Gundy in recruiting.
“It wasn’t hard for him or anyone else to see that I got his passion for the game,” Jalen says in the video. “He started training me when I told him I wanted to play Division I football.
He told me how hard I needed to work to get there. I knew with his help I could. He was always one of the smallest players on the field at 5-8, but he played with a chip on his shoulder and he taught me how to play the same way.” [GoPokes $]
