Three Thoughts

• Not a great sign that two of college basketball’s bigger names have the Pokes out of the Big Dance (PFB)

This is a tough one – OSU won games in basketball’s most serious conference but it seems one to many things have broken wrong – losing a couple of non-conference games you really shouldn’t have and losing Avery Anderson and seeing your defense wilt during conference play are probably the two biggest.

• Props to the Cowgirls for advancing to the Big 12 semifinals on a buzzer beater (PFB)

• With the NCAA Championships approaching, Seth has the Pokes predicted to end up with 3.5 All-Americans:

Oklahoma State has one lock with Daton Fix at 133, one who certainly has a strong chance to repeat at 174 in Dustin Plott and three or four guys who could take off on a run and bust up a bracket, but could also be done on Thursday. I personally think OSU gets the two that are seeded and has one more break out to make it three, but again there are a handful of guys who could go on a run and hit the over.

Two Quotes

• As Cowboy alum Corey Williams coaches the Red Raiders, Coach Sutton is still impacting basketball:

“Coach Sutton was an instrumental part of my success as a basketball player, and I’d call him at times when I was a head coach,” Williams said. “You think about how he got us to play hard, how he got us to compete, and you try to draw upon that.

One Question

• OSU fought through this slog of a season down a solid ballhandler and ace scorer… but do you really want to see this team in the NCAA Tournament?
