Glad to report the Bullet Twins are home and well – thanks to the Kyles for covering for me while we drowned in Pampers got acclimated to the new roommates.

Switch Flipping

One of the hardest things about the TCU game was feeling like the Pokes had an ace in the hole at all times (a prolific offense capable of scoring at will) – but couldn’t use it. Baylor was a different situation.

Then something remarkable happened: Oklahoma State, coming off a loss followed by a nailbiting win followed by a bye week, remembered who it could be.

Like finding a favorite shirt at the back of the closet, the Cowboys rediscovered the style of play, the cutthroat efficiency and the potential that landed them on the cover of Sports Illustrated and in many pundits’ playoff projections. [TulsaWorld]

Just knowing the Cowboy offense is capable of downfield bombs and long scores makes for a unique viewing experience.

Second-in-Line

JD King played fantastically in relief of Justice Hill on Saturday.

Fans have been asking for more J.D. King, and they got it on Saturday. The true freshman showed more of what we’ve seen in small doses so far — a gift for physical running. He pounded his way to 47 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. As the coaches gain more trust in him, his role will develop, and he could become more of a weapon in goal-line situations. [NewsOK]

Only Pete knows what closet he’s been hiding in on Saturdays (or maybe he got Tim Riggins’ed and Coach let him walk home from Lubbock) but pacing a freshman for the second half of the season could wind up to have been a good move.

OSU and NCAA Notes

Big 12 survived a week seven full of chaos….CBS’ Jerry Palm thinks the Pokes are Fiesta bound against a blue blood….Boone breaks down the saga of players cheating at UNC (Bonus: five classes that shouldn’t exist on a college campus)….Kendall Smith made a list of high scoring CBB transfers (via SI)

I’d be totally open to this change to “The Walk”. Maybe halfway to BPS in the convertible.

If this guy doesn’t have a dozen engineering job offers when he’s done in the NFL, I don’t know what to make of the world.

Put back points for the kicker at Wabash.

Massive cheers for Les Miles in Death Valley over the weekend were….weird.

My favorite tweet from Saturday.
