The Cowboys have lost a second commitment this week.

After defensive line prospect Jordan Covington on Sunday announced he was stepping back from his Oklahoma State pledge, three-star tight end Isaiah Butler-Tanner did the same.

“I wanna thank Oklahoma State for everything they’ve done for me,” Butler-Tanner wrote,” but after deep & careful consideration I will be decommitting and 100% reopening my recruitment back up.”

A 6-foot-6 tight end from Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas, Butler-Tanner committed to OSU in June, picking the Pokes over offers from Baylor, Texas Tech, Houston and others. Butler-Tanner is the No. 1,213 player in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.

He was one of two tight ends the Cowboys had in their 2025 class, joining fellow three-star Jordan Vyborny. Vyborny announced in September that he tore his ACL and MCL.

Butler-Tanner’s decommitment moves OSU down to 15 pledges in its 2025 class. According to 247Sports, OSU’s class ranks 57th nationally and 11th in the Big 12. Here are those 15 commitments (listed alphabetically):
