Daily Bullets (Mar. 14): Most Viewed of the Week, 3-2-1, Eligibility Chatter
Happy birthday to Mrs. Bullets – thanks for letting me hang around for the last ten birthdays and the countless moments of patience invested. There aren’t enough tacos in the world to show my appreciation with.
Bullets Rundown
• Extra eligibility for baseball possible but basketball seems unlikely
• Bring me a McDonald’s All-American game on a video game console
• Pokes were NIT or bust
Three Ideas
• Big 12 is shutting down all spring sports, calling it quits for baseball too. Baseball players stand a good shot of keeping the year of eligibility but there’s no feeling on basketball players at this point.
• We won’t get to watch Cade Cunningham play in the McDonald’s game – gosh, it would be incredible if a video game could be created with these players’ likenesses.
For the 2020 class, the McDonald’s All-American Game is no more and for those invited, it is a sour ending to a prolific high school journey https://t.co/pD848T1ZMo pic.twitter.com/iCW2kKcJAb

• It’s pretty clear what the ceiling for this Cowboy basketball team was, no?
The Oklahoma State Cowboys aren’t going to the NCAA Tournament. But I think it’s clear after Wednesday’s game they have a place in the NIT. [HCS]
Two Quotes
• This is fun to read – the Dallas Cowboys are in negotiations to lock up OSU grad Blake Jarwin long-term.
For the sake of considering all variables, however, let’s assume a valuable veteran, athletic tight end was brought in to complement Blake Jarwin — who is currently in negotiation on a long-term deal with the club… [CBS Sports]
• Incredibly accurate framing here about the disappointment from losing sports for a while.
We don’t like to lose our ballgames. They are our release, our outlet from repetitive life. But repetitive life is gone, at least for awhile, same as it was in the days after 9/11. We quit playing 19 years ago because no one felt like it. We quit playing now because health concerns demand it.
It’s called sacrifice. This isn’t World War II-level sacrifice. But it’s rather large for 21st-century standards. [NewsOK $$$]
One Question
• I suspect the answers wouldn’t be that spread out – but if you could bring back one Cowboy Basketball senior, who would it be?
a. Cam McGriff b. Lindy Waters c. Thomas Dziagwa
