Against the House
Vegas has OSU at 40-1 odds for the national title and Phil Steele thinks that’s underestimating the Pokes.
Oklahoma State gets Bedlam at home in 2017. With quarterback Mason Rudolph, running back Justice Hill and wide receiver James Washington, the Cowboys have one of the best skill player trios in the country. They don’t figure to be more than a field goal underdog in any game, and that makes them a title contender. [ESPN Insider]
Bob-less Bedlam in Stillwater and some all-time triplets make for a reasonable bet on the Pokes.
Hype Machine
Mason may wear No. 2 but pundits feel good about him being an impact guy in the NFL going in the first round.
“I think his talents lend themselves more to the NFL,” added (Fox Sports’ Joel) Klatt. “He uses route combinations and the ability to read coverage to his advantage. I think he has great skills and arm and he is accurate. He makes plays that way. Where another quarterback Baker Mayfield is a great college quarterback but he uses his mobility and he creativity to make plays.”
Klatt went even farther. “I think (Rudolph) will be a first round NFL Draft choice,” Klatt declared. [GoPokes $]
That doesn’t sound like a lot of “system quarterback” commentary that air-raid guys tend to get.
