Disappearing Discord?
Underwood induced-wounds remain fresh but Gundy’s signing implies a refreshing internal functionality.
But a non-OSU source said Weiberg wanted no part of being perceived as pushing out Holder. An OSU source said they have worked well together since Weiberg’s arrival a few weeks ago and that Weiberg was not involved in Gundy’s negotiations. Holder said Gundy actually signed the contract a month ago, May 12, but OSU had no “compelling” reason to release the news until this week.
Was Gundy more willing to sign on knowing that he’d eventually be working with Weiberg? Maybe. [NewsOK]
If previous Holder/Gundy discord is true, then approximately a month ago something made Gundy feel comfortable signing a semi-infinite contract. Hard to imagine what that could have been.

Strength of Schedule
A major pundit lists the Pokes on a shortlist of college football’s toughest schedules for 2017.
5. Cowboys
Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State teams have won at least 10 games in five of the last seven seasons. If they’re to make it six in eight, it will not be easy.
While the nonconference schedule may not strike you as a gauntlet, Tulsa is coming off a 10-win season of its own, and a road trip to face Pittsburgh won’t be easy. In conference play, the Cowboys only have four road games, but they include Texas Tech, Texas and West Virginia in back-to-back weeks, and finally Iowa State. Between those final three road games is Oklahoma in Stillwater as well. That will be a difficult stretch. [CBS Sports]
The more times you chew on that schedule, the major hole is a lack-of-rumdums. You can say that KU for Senior Day in November qualifies but call up snake-bitten Texas and see if they agree.

Gundy’s recruiting “must have’s” continue to unfold: must respect their genetically-superior parents. I’m all in.
Q: When you do home visits for recruiting, what’s something you look for?

Rickie’s in the hunt halfway.
Rickie Fowler was cruising Friday, until Erin Hills reminded him this is a #USOpen. He's still just one back: https://t.co/gTJ4BCOWTT pic.twitter.com/uXrhC1OHHf
