OSU Bullets

• Cowboy alum Charlie Johnson had a solid quote that perfectly sums up the Les Miles situation this weekend.

“I can see why just the way he did it was probably not the best way to do it, but for me personally, I just think of what he provided me and the opportunity he gave me,” Johnson said. “And I think about that stuff and I think about all the games we won, and all that kind of overrides the way he left for me, personally.” [O’Colly]

It’s a valid angle if someone is frustrated with the way he left – being obviously checked out for his last game on the job – but I don’t think a team possessed by rabid wolves is beating that Ohio State squad.

• How OSU is disposing of opponents in the non-conference play tells you this Cowboy Basketball team is set up for different outcomes.

There were two mid-major road games on OSU’s schedule last season, Charlotte and Tulsa. Mike Boynton’s squad lost both of those games. In fact, OSU won just two true road games all of last season.

In their first try this year, after getting shell shocked in the first half, the Cowboys won by 19 against a good mid-major team. [PFB]

• Minor Cowboy Football note here – Tylan Wallace and Chuba Hubbard have both filed for a draft grade from the NFL.

Wallace’s Oklahoma State career could be finished. A third-year junior, he’ll be eligible to enter the NFL Draft. Hubbard came in with the same recruiting class, and though he’s only a redshirt sophomore, he, too, could be NFL-bound after the season.

Neither is a guarantee. Both have individual decisions to make. But both have filed paperwork with the NFL to get their draft grade later this year, according to GoPokes.com. [NewsOK]

This doesn’t impact their eligibility for next year if they decide to come back.

• This is pretty wild – Barry Sanders modeled his game off of Tony Dorsett.

• Liked this bowl preview and update on OSU’s shot to get into the title game

Non-OSU Bullets

• Finished this Malcolm Gladwell read yesterday – not my favorite of his but still good. OSU-Mizzou 2009 got a shout out towards the end!
