Out of Liberty High School in Bakersfield, Buckey is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, Rivals and On3. 247 tabs him as the No. 74 offensive tackle in the 2026 class and the No. 85 player from the state of California. He comes in as the No. 949 player overall in the 2026 cycle, according to On3’s Industry Ranking. Along with his top group, he also had offers to Boston College, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue and others.
OSU’s new staff offered Buckey on Feb. 2, and he took an official visit to Stillwater in mid-April. He visited Cal and Michigan State before making the trek to OSU, and Buckey also has visits set to UCLA, Arizona and Vandy.
He comes from a football family. Buckey’s father, Jeff, played on Stanford’s offensive line in the 1990s before an NFL career that saw him play with the Dolphins, Browns and 49ers. Quinn has two brothers who are Division-I defensive linemen. Grant Buckey plays at UCLA, and Zach Buckey plays at Stanford.
OSU’s 2026 class currently ranks 23rd nationally with 11 commitments. One of those pledges is an offensive lineman — Berryhill’s Aiden Martin.
