Four-Star Jenks Offensive Lineman Flips from Arkansas to Oklahoma State

Eric Morris just flipped an in-state prospect from an SEC school.

Odaefe Oruru announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Wednesday. Listed at 6-foot-6, 310 pounds Oruru had been committed to Arkansas since April, but Morris and Co. were able to move in and get the Jenks product to stay in his home state.

“After thinking about what I really want out of my college experience, I realized I want to say home and play for my state,” Oruru wrote in his social media post. “Oklahoma is home. I’ve grown up here my whole life, and having the opportunity to represent my state and play at the next level means a lot to me and my family. I have a lot of respect for Arkansas and their staff, and I’m thankful for the belief they’ve had in me throughout this process.

“At the end of the day, I wanted to play for my state. I’m staying home and I’m ready to be a Cowboy.”

247Sports considers Oruru a four-star prospect and the No. 22 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 recruiting class. That makes him the state’s No. 8 prospect. He’s the No. 486 player in 247Sports’ Composite ranking, and along with offers to OSU and Arkansas, Oruru fielded offers from Texas Tech, TCU, Colorado, Maryland and others.

He primarily played at left tackle last season for the Trojans, blocking for OSU freshman running back KD Jones. Jenks went 10-2 in Oruru’s junior season in 2025, making it to the 6A-I state semifinals before losing a tight game to Owasso.

Opposing edge rushers didn’t stand much of a chance.

Oruru opens his senior season on Thursday night, as Jenks will head down to the Lone Star State for a game against Southlake Carroll.

Oruru makes it a dozen pledges in Oklahoma State’s 2027 recruiting class and bumps the Cowboys’ class up to No. 14 in the Big 12 after previously being last. A lot of that ranking has to do with quantity, though, as the Cowboys are still tied for the fewest number of pledges in the 2027 cycle.

He’s the third offensive lineman in the class, joining Jake Baker (Tennessee) and Sonny Mullen (Texas). Oruru also makes it a quartet of in-state pledges for Morris and Co., and he joins linebacker Israel Hammons (Choctaw), wide receiver Cooper Hooker (Pryor) and defensive back Bryson Brown (Broken Arrow).
